Der Spiegel Francis entstand aus einem Experiment mit Einfärbung. Die verschwommenen Farben am Rand erinnern an die Oxidation von alten Spiegeln oder Farben auf einer Make-up Palette.  Diese besondere Einfärbung mit lebendigen, tiefen Farben wird mittels eines digitalen Prints unter die Oberfläche der Spiegel projiziert. Die Rückseite des Spiegels ist leicht konvex, die Aufhängung befindet sich in der Mitte, weshalb der Spiegel wie eine venezianischer Spiegel schräg nach vorne fällt.

 

The wall mirror Francis evolved from an experience with pigmentation. The shifting colours on the periphery suggest the oxidation of antique mirrors or hues on a makeup palette. This observational design, with vivid and deep colours, is reflected inside the surface of each mirror by digital printing. The back of the mirror, slightly convex, is suspended through the centre, which allows the mirror to fall forward such as with venetian mirrors.

Hand blown in a mould, Tidelight is a lamp made in series in which each and every lamp is unique. The textured glass, which is reminiscent of car industry codes, swathes the lightbulb creating a diffused and warm light. Eric Hibelot ist zuerst und vor allem Keramiker. Sein bevorzugtes Material, seine Lieblingsformen und seine Farbpalette sind einfach und konsequent: er arbeitet mit weißem Porzellan, mit Schwerpunkt auf runden Formen, die gut in der Hand liegen, jedes Stück aus Platten so klein wie möglich geformt. Er mag kräftige Grundfarben, vor allem gelb, und er liebt es mit kontrastierenden Oberflächen-Effekten zu experimentieren – matt und glänzend, mit geritzten Linien aus der Welt der Textilien. Die Vasen von Eric Hibelot sind alle Unikate, signiert und viele sind auch von unten noch liebevoll mit Linien und Kringeln verziert.

Eric Hibelot is first and foremost a ceramist. His preferred material, his favourite shapes, and his colour palette are simple and consistent: he works with white porcelain, focusing on round forms that fill the hand, building each piece with plates as small as possible. He likes strong primary colors, especially yellow, and he enjoys experimenting with contrasting surface effects – matte to glossy, with scored lines drawn from the world of textiles.
